FM Meets Special Envoy to Yemen

SANAA, July 4  (YPA) – Foreign Minister,  Hisham Sharaf Abdullah, on Wednesday met with the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General to Yemen Martin Griffith.

The meeting dealt with the latest developments in the efforts of the UN envoy to resume the process of political negotiations.

Sharaf affirmed the continuing trend toward peace and political settlement in the framework of the international efforts led by the Special Envoy to end the human suffering Influenced the Yemeni people caused by the coalition.

Sharaf pointed out the need to create encouraging conditions for the political settlement efforts sought by the Yemeni people, the most important of which is reopening the airport, paying salaries, improving the health situation and providing basic services.

For his part, Griffith confirmed to continue his good offices to resume the process of peaceful political negotiations, which is a solution to end the worsen  humanitarian situation in Yemen.
