HADRAMOUT, June 26 (YPA) – Only a week has passed since the formation of “Hadramout National Council” in Riyadh, and the head of the coalition’s Presidential Leadership Council came to Hadramout with Saudi arrangements to announce that Hadramout would run itself “security, financially and administratively.”
According to observers, Al-Alimi’s announcement confirms Saudi Arabia’s progress in its steps to declare Hadramout as an independent entity, and to enable the “Hadramout National Council”, which was formed in Riyadh, to manage the province and even represent it in any upcoming peace negotiations.
Al-Alimi said in his speech that “the experience of Hadramout will be generalized to other governorates,” which means that there is a Saudi intention to form councils similar to Hadramout in other governorates that are under the control of the Saudi-led coalition during the coming period.
These steps cause great concern for the Southern Transitional Council (STC) because such steps undermine its project that it seeks to achieve in southern Yemen. Thus, the STC stood against Al-Alimi’s visit to Hadramout, which is shown by the STC supporters tearing pictures of Al-Alimi in the streets of Mukalla.
Observers confirmed that Saudi Arabia, along with the announcement of Al-Alimi, shattered the hopes of the STC in Hadramout, Stressing that the final word in Hadramout will be for Saudi Arabia, as Aidarous Al-Zubaidi appeared during the last period too weak to stand in the face of Saudi projects in the province.
