Southern Revolutionary Movement calls for uprising against STC, pro-coalition government in Aden

ADEN, June 15 (YPA) – The Southern Revolutionary Movement on Wednesday called on the people of Yemen’s southern governorates to rise up against the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and the government loyal to Saudi-led coalition..

“The policy of humiliation, torture and deprivation of their rights, imposed on the citizens by the facto authority represented by the STC and its partner, pro-coalition government, must be rejected,” the movement said in a statement addressing the people of Aden and the southern governorates

The statement pointed out that the authorities deliberately burdened the people of Aden and increased their harsh suffering by cutting off electricity service for long hours in a frivolous act that does not take into account the human suffering amid a hot summer.

It affirmed that the continuation of the STC’s authorities and pro-coalition government in fabricating crises.

The revolutionary movement denounced what it described as rampant corruption in the joints of power in Aden, explaining that the suffering of the people has reached tragic conditions at all levels related to their daily lives.

The call coincides with the return of protests against the pro-coalition government and the STC in the city of Aden, in light of the overwhelming popular discontent as a result of the escalating crises that have exhausted citizens.

According to media sources, the people of the south are scheduled to go out in a massive popular revolution on June 22 to expel the pro-coalition government and the STC, and demand the appointment of a government of competencies belonging to the homeland and not to the party or the group.

The past few days have witnessed an exchange of accusations between the STC and pro-coalition Prime Minister Moeen Abdulmalik, blaming each other for the collapse of state institutions and the collapse of the Yemeni riyal to an unprecedented level.
