Pro-coalition government raises gasoline price in Aden

ADEN, Feb. 05 (YPA) – The government loyal to Saudi-led coalition  has imposed a new dose in the price of oil derivatives, which is the second in less than a month.

“The oil company, which is under the control of the coalition, raised the price of gasoline in the city of Aden from 950 – 975 riyals per liter of gasoline, bringing the price of a 20-liter gallon to 19,500 riyals,” according to well- informed sources.

The sources added that the new dose in the prices of oil derivatives will double the suffering of citizens in the southern governorates, after the pro-coalition government raised the price of customs tariff from 500 to 750 riyals, on the ninth of last January.

This decision was accompanied by a rise in the prices of oil derivatives in the areas of Yemen controlled by the coalition.

The sources pointed out that the pro- coalition government imposed several doses  in raising  gasoline prices during 2022, bringing the price of  per liter last June on the black market to more than 1300 riyals.

Observers and economic analysts believe that the policy implemented by the pro-coalition government will have catastrophic repercussions on the prices of goods, food and transport in southern and eastern Yemen.

They stressed that the government has not made any reforms to improve the economy, which has been witnessing a terrible collapse due to the deterioration of the Yemeni riyal against foreign currencies.
