Saudi Arabia threatens STC leaders with liquidation

SANAA, Feb. 01(YPA) – A Saudi journalist and political researcher made on Tuesday a veiled threat to the leaders of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council with liquidation, similar to the liquidation of the governor, Jaafar Mohammed Saad.

Al-Areshi, who is affiliated with Saudi intelligence and waging a media war against the STC, published a picture of the pro-STC governor, Jaafar Saad. It was considered by the STC leaders as a direct threat to them and an official recognition that Saudi Arabia was behind his assassination.

In the first official response by a member of the National Assembly of STC, Watheq al-Hasani, considered al-Arishi’s tweet as a dangerous message.

Jaafar Mohammed Saad, who assumed the position of governor before Aidarous al-Zubaidi, was killed when a car bomb targeted his convoy at Aqaba Gul Mor in the city of Aden on December 6, 2015.
