SANAA, Jan. 23 (YPA) – Yemen’s national wrestling team player, Ibrahim Al-Shabami, withdrew on Sunday from the Grand Prix tournament, which is currently being held in France.
The withdrawal of the representative of Yemen in the freestyle wrestling, weight of 61 kg, came after the lottery placed him in the face of the Zionist entity player, Daniel Popov, after he got a victory in the first confrontation of the tournament at the expense of the French player, Armand Traoré.
In a statement about this, the coach, Mohammed Al-Sahbani, expressed his sadness at what happened, especially the Yemeni wrestler managed to beat the owner of the land, the French player, in a strong confrontation.
He added by saying that facing the player of the Israeli entity was easier for the Yemeni wrestler, therefore the victory was guaranteed and achieving a medal in this weight was within reach if Al-Shibami qualified.
