Southern Movement calls for lifting Emirati guardianship over South

ADEN, Jan. 18 (YPA) – Following new developments in the Yemeni scene amid rising fears for the future of the south, the Southern Movement called for lifting the Emirati guardianship over the southern issue.

Abdul Kareem al-Saadi, who is heading the Southern National Assembly, said in a post on his official social media account that the southern issue is going through a serious dilemma.

“To get the Southern issue out of this dilemma, it requires measures, including ending the management of the UAE special unit and starting southern negotiations that go beyond the control of the tribe and the same region.

Al-Saadi warned of the serious repercussion of situation on the southern issue in the future.

The southern Political Forces fear that the negotiations will keep the southern file away from the negotiating table, especially in light of efforts to dissolve the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), which is at the forefront of the scene in the south, within the Yemeni forces loyal to the coalition and move it as a card in accordance with the agenda of Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
