President Al-Mashat offers condolences on death of Yemen’s great poet, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Maqaleh

SANAA, Nov. 28 (YPA) – President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, on Monday sent a cable of condolence and sympathy on the death of Yemen’s great poet Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Maqaleh who died today in Sanaa at the age of 85 years.

In the cable of condolence that he sent to the son of the deceased Muhammad Abdulaziz Al-Maqaleh, President Al-Mashat confirmed that with the departure of the poet Al-Maqaleh, Yemen and the Arab nation have lost one of the great poets of Yemen and his most important symbols.

He referred to the patriotic positions of the late Dr. Al-Maqaleh in defending the revolution, the republic and unity, who chose to align himself with his homeland in the face of the US-Saudi aggression and set a true example of commitment to the national cause.

President Al-Mashat praised Dr. Al-Maqaleh’s experience as a writer and critic, who adhered to an honest position in his relationship with writing and criticism, and expressed a different and distinct experience in his relationship with writing poems, criticism, and essays, and he was a great scholar in all of that.

“The great poet of Yemen, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Maqaleh, was a professor for generations of writers, and one of the great poets who represented an addition to the Arabic poem and emerged as one of its figures,” he said.

In the cable, he expressed his sincere condolences and sincere sympathy to all members of Al-Maqaleh family in Ibb province for this painful affliction, asking Allah Almighty to bestow the deceased with the abundance of mercy and forgiveness, and grant him the highest paradise, and inspire his family and relatives the patience and solace.
