Military mobilizations heralds confrontations between Islah, “Tariq Afash” in Taiz

TAIZ, Sept. 21 (YPA) – The Islah Party has brought dozens of militants, including members of Al-Qaeda, to the southern areas of Taiz province, southwest Yemen.

Local sources reported on Wednesday that the commander of the “Heavy Transport Brigade”, affiliated with the Islah, Amjad Khaled, sent about 50 of his gunmen to Al-Turbah city, the center of Al-Shamayatain district, coming from Lahj province.

The sources confirmed the arrival of the gunmen to the Islah camps in Al-Turbah, after sending about 80 members during the past two days, suggesting these moves are in the framework of preparations to confront the UAE-backed forces led by “Tariq Afash” in the countryside of Taiz.

This comes in conjunction with the rising tensions between Islah and the UAE, which is seeking to impose its control over the region.

Emirati media leaks had revealed in early September that “ISIS” had taken the city of Al-Turbah as its headquarters and appointed a new emir of the organization in Taiz called “Abu Hammam Al-Tazi”, amid preparations and mobilizations for the pro-UAE forces to pounce on Al-Hujariya areas.
