YPC expands its transport fleet with 10 locomotives

SANAA, Sept. 20 (YPA) – The Minister of Oil and Minerals, Ahmed Abdullah Daris, inaugurated on Tuesday the fourth batch of the Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC)’s investment plan to expand the transport fleet by adding ten locomotives.

At the inauguration, the Oil Minister confirmed that the launch of these locomotives comes within the framework of the company’s plan and programs to expand the investment aspects, whether in the transport fleet or the establishment of model stations to cover the citizens’ needs of oil derivatives.

He noted the importance of this step to contribute to the avoidance of monopoly and the provision of materials in a large and continuous manner, which contributes to alleviating the suffering of citizens.

Daris indicated that the inauguration coincides with the Yemeni people’s celebrations of the 8th anniversary of the September 21 revolution, and in implementation of the directives of the Leader of the Revolution and the President of the Supreme Political Council.

Meanwhile, the company’s official spokesman, Issam Al-Mutawakel, confirmed that the launch of the fourth phase of expanding the Company’s fleet comes as a continuation of the implementation of the company’s plan within the national vision of building the modern Yemeni state.
