Tehran dismisses claims of smuggling arms to Hodeida port

TEHRAN, Aug. 16 (YPA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani on Monday categorically dismissed claims by an Arab media about smuggling of arms from Iran’s southern port of Bandar Abbas to Yemen’s Hodeida Port.

According to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Nasser Kanaani said that claims are baseless and the repetition of machinations by the aggressor coalition and its Western allies.

The spokesman added, that the Saudi-led coalition has to be responsible for the crimes they have been committing in Yemen for more than seven years which have created the biggest human disaster of the century.

He believed that blaming Iran is an effort to divert public attention of the regional and international nations from the realities of the Yemeni crisis.

Iran’s support for the Yemeni people has always been of a political nature and it has been in favor of the peaceful process in the country and the efforts by the United Nations to find a settlement to this devastating war, Kanaani said.
