US Special Envoy discuses Yemeni developments with Oman

Muscat, Aug. 15 (YPA) – US Special Envoy for Yemen Tim Lenderking has discussed with Omani and Emirati officials developments regarding the war on Yemen.

The Omani Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday that Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs, received in Muscat, Tim Lenderking, the United States (US) Special Envoy for Yemen.

The two sides reviewed the efforts exerted to help Yemeni parties forge a political solution that achieves peace and stability in Yemen and the region, according to the statement.

The Sultanate of Oman has been conducting diplomatic efforts on stopping the war on Yemen.

On August 2, the UN announced that the Sana’a and the Saudi-led coalition backed parties had agreed to extend the truce between the two sides for an additional two months, “as a commitment by the parties to intensify negotiations to reach an expanded truce agreement as soon as possible.”

For more than 7 years, Yemen has been witnessing an aggression launched by Saudi-led coalition against the national salvation government forces.
