Emirati military aircraft intervenes in Shabwa confrontations

SHABWA, Aug. 08 (YPA) – The UAE military aircraft intervened on Monday in the confrontations that erupted during the past hours in the city of Ataq, the capital of Shabwa province, in eastern Yemen.

Local sources stated that a number of Emirati spy and combat drones flew heavily during the first hours of the armed conflict between the “special forces” led by Abd Rabbo La’kab, and the Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia funded by the UAE on Monday in the skies of Ataq city.

The Emirati drones targeted military sites of La’kab forces in the surrounding of Ataq city, according to the sources.

The sources pointed out that the drones were launched from the Balhaf gas facility, located on the Arabian Sea, of which the UAE has taken a military base and headquarters for its forces in Shabwa.
