Guidance Ministry condemns looting pilgrims by coalition mercenaries in Abyan

SANAA, Jul. 25 (YPA) – The Ministry of Guidance and Hajj and Umrah Affairs in Sanaa condemned on Monday the looting of pilgrims returning homeland in Al-Mahfad district of Abyan province, after they had performed the Hajj pilgrimage.

The Ministry denounced, in a statement issued today, the looting of the pilgrims’ money and belongings, and intimidating them by an armed gang in the Al-Mahfad area that intercepted the bus taking them to their areas.

The statement pointed out that these criminal acts are a blatant aggression that contradicts religious principles and values, humanitarian laws, customs and authentic Yemeni tribal ancestors.

“The lives of travelers on the lines of the Saudi-led coalition-occupied provinces have become threatened and endangered due to the continuous acts of kidnapping, killing and looting by the aggression mercenaries, which claimed the lives of dozens of travelers and their families over the previous years until today,” the statement explained.

The Ministry of Guidance held the coalition forces and mercenaries fully responsible for consequences of these crimes, calling on the United Nations and human rights and humanitarian organizations to play their role in condemning the crimes.
