Al-Amaliqa forces arrest officials in Shabwa

SHABWA, June. 17 (YPA) – A force belonging to the Emirati-backed al-Amaliqa Brigades arrested two officials in the province of Shabwa, according to local sources.

“Director General of the Information Office in Shabwa, Abdullah Abu Bakr Barhama, and his media team, in addition to Adel Al-Khulaifi, Secretary-General of the Ataq Local Council, are still detained by the al-Amaliqa forces,” the sources said.

The reasons for their arrest have not yet been known, and there has been no comment by the local authority in Shabwa.

Meanwhile, Director General of the Culture Office in Shabwa, loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, Professor and Poet Mohammed Salem Al-Ahmadi, surprised from the incident by saying: “I cannot write more details because my shock and pain from what happened is greater than any details.

The two men arrested while going to an area called “Murra” on the outskirts of the Ataq district to shoot scenes from a documentary film about Shabwa province.
