Fierce clashes erupt in Lahj

LAHJ, Jun. 05 (YPA) – Armed clashes between Sanaa forces and armed groups funded by the UAE erupted on Sunday in Al-Had district of Lahj province, southern Yemen.

Well-informed sources in Lahj told the “Yemen Press Agency” that armed elements of the coalition forces launched a large-scale military attack from their positions in Yafea area towards the positions of Sanaa forces in “Al-Nasifa” area of Al-Zahir district in Bayda province.

After fierce battles between the two sides, the Sana’ forces managed to force the coalition recruits to retreat to their positions in Al-Had area, the sources added.

This comes less than 24 hours after the coalition forces bombed civilians’ homes in “Thi Amkhashab” village in the district of Al-Zahir Al Humiqan in Bayda, which led to the killing of a girl when a mortar shell landed on their house, in light of the continuous violations of the humanitarian truce in Yemen by the Saudi-led coalition forces.
