Pro-coalition recruits in Abyan protest against interruption of salaries

ABYAN, May 19 (YPA) – Dozens of recruits loyal to Saudi-led coalition in Abyan governorate, southern Yemen, carried out on Wednesday a vigil in the city of Zinjbar, denouncing the suspension of their salaries and the exclusionary practices they are exposed to.

The protesters – numbering 433 recruits from the southern resistance who were marginalized and expelled from Al-Raha camp in Lahj governorate – explained that the commander of the so-called “Saiqa forces”, Ali al-Bishi, nicknamed “Abu Taher”, cut their salaries.

They demanded that their salaries be paid like their colleagues in Abyan axis of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Abyan.

This is the second escalation this May of the southern resistance’s recruits against the leadership of the Abyan axis against the background of regional practices and the interruption of salaries.
