Yemen’s Workers Union congratulates Yemeni workers on International Labor Day

SANAA, May 01 (YPA) – The Yemeni Workers Union congratulated on Sunday Yemen’s male and female workers on International Labor Day.

In a statement on this occasion, the Union explained that the given working hands that follow the rule of “a hand builds and a hand protects” scattered the dreams of the Saudi-led coalition, which has tried to break their psyche and morale of the workers through the systematic destruction of facilities, industrial gatherings, production centers and the transfer of the Central Bank, and cutting salaries.

The statement stressed that Yemeni workers have endured a lot of suffering since the aggression coalition declared its unjust war on Yemen, which led to the layoffs of hundreds of thousands of workers of their jobs.

“The coalition’s transfer of the Central Bank of Yemen has caused a humanitarian and economic disaster as a result of stopping the payment of salaries to about one million and two hundred thousand employees of the state’s administrative apparatus and retirees, tightly controlling the state’s sovereign resources.”

The Union called on the international community, the Security Council and the United Nations to take practical steps to stop the war, lift the siege and establish peace.

It called for reactivating the role of the Central Bank to carry out its economic tasks, recover the looted resources from Yemen’s exports controlled by the coalition.
