UAE turns STC’s page, brings in other forces to secure Aden

ADEN, Feb. 13 (YPA) – The UAE is moving to transfer “Tariq Afash forces” loyal to it to the port city of Aden, which is under the control of the Southern Transitional Council (STC).

According to informed sources, the UAE and Saudi Arabia are making arrangements to return “the Tariq forces” to Bir Ahmed area in Aden and to remove the STC brigades as one of the solutions provided by Abu Dhabi to implement the so-called “Riyadh Agreement” signed between the “Hadi’s Government” and the STC, amid the insistence of the Islah Party to implement the agreement.

The forces led by Tariq forces began to transfer their equipment towards Aden, to receive and secure vital facilities and control security in the city, which suffers from chaos and armed confrontations between the STC factions, the sources explained.

The sources considered that the UAE is seeking to remove the “STC” from the political and military scene in a gradual manner, as happened in Shabwa province.

Meanwhile, the differences widened between the STC leaders as a result of Emirati pressures and their failure to acquiesce in the status quo.

This comes after the widening differences between the “STC” and the Afash forces loyal to the UAE since the latter took control of government facilities in Shabwa, and dispensing the “Shabwani Elite”.
