Sanaa calls on Security Council to clear position on peace in Yemen

SANAA, Dec. 30 (YPA) – Foreign Minister in Sanaa, Hisham Sharaf, called on the Security Council to adopt a clear stance towards peace, by issuing a new resolution calling for an end to the war and the lifting of the comprehensive siege on Yemen.

In a letter addressed to the President of the Security Council for the month of December, 2021, the minister demanded taking a brave and decisive position that calls for and preserves world peace by inviting the Salvation Government in Sanaa to present its position on the ongoing war and its endeavors towards peace, in addition the council’s hearing of the proposals and positions of the various parties in Yemen.

Sharaf held the ambassador, Abdo Abadi, the members of the Council and the five permanent members, to clarify and expose the falseness of the allegations contained in the Saudi letter to the Security Council on Dec 28, as well as accounting the Saudi government and their arms suppliers in accordance with international law.

The Minister’s letter affirmed that the government and the national political forces in Sanaa reject the attempts of Saudi hegemony over Yemen, but they welcome the just and honorable peace of the Yemeni people.
