Battles pace escalates in Shabwa between Sanaa forces, coalition militants

SHABWA, Dec. 03 (YPA) – Fierce battles continue, for the third day in a row, between the Salvation Government forces on one hand and the Saudi-led coalition forces and their armed factions on the other hand, west of Shabwa province.

Local sources in Shabwa said that the confrontations between the two sides continued on Friday in the desert separating the two districts of Usaylan and Bayhan, during which Sanaa forces managed to control “Al-Akad” area and advance towards the coalition forces’ sites in “Al-Ramla Al-Qibliya” area, north of Al-Mojabjab area.

The fierce clashes, in which heavy and medium weapons were used in addition to mutual artillery and missile shelling, led to dozens of deaths and injuries on both sides.

Meanwhile, the coalition fighter jets continued to launch raids on a number of confrontational areas in the desert of Usaylan Shabwa, especially the areas that were recently controlled by Sanaa forces, in an attempt to stop the advances of the latter on the fronts in western Shabwa.
