Ministry of Health reveals shocking number of kidney failure patients in Yemen

SANAA, Nov. 18 (YPA) – The Ministry of Health revealed the extent of the suffering of Yemeni patients as a result of the continued closure of Sanaa International Airport by the US-Saudi aggression.

An official at the ministry  said  that the number of patients with renal failure in the governorates under control of the National Salvation Government are more than 4,850 patients, most of whom need to travel abroad for a kidney transplant.

“There is a great shortage of dialysis centers, as there are four government dialysis centers and five private centers in the capital, Sanaa. In the other governorates, there are only 18 centers,” the official added.

The closure of Sanaa International Airport has caused  death to thousands of patients as a result of being denied travel for treatment abroad.
