Hamas calls on Saudi Arabia to release Palestinian detainees

GAZA, Oct. 23 (YPA) – The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on Friday called on the Saudi authorities to take an immediate decision to release all Palestinian detainees in their prisons.

The movement welcomed the report issued by the Human Rights Council’s Working Group, which considered the Saudi authorities’ continued denial of freedom to detainee Mohammed Saleh Al-Khodari and his son Hani as “arbitrary”.

The movement explained that the committee confirmed in its report to the Human Rights Council, that the case of Al-Khodari and his son Hani applies to the description of “arbitrary detention”, and documented their torture and denial of the conditions of fair trial, calling on the Saudi regime to release all Palestinian detainees.

“All human rights of Palestinian detainees in Saudi prisons have been violated, and that appropriate treatment is to release them immediately and give them an enforceable right to compensation,” the group said in a report issued following the UN Human Rights Council 91 session last September.
