STC mobilizes militarily to expel Islah authorities from Ataq city in Shabwa

SHABWA, Oct. 21 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) has been making armed arrangements to expel the local authorities affiliated with Islah Party loyal to Saudi-led coalition from Ataq city, the capital of Shabwa province, eastern Yemen.

The STC’s move comes under the pretext of confronting Sanaa forces in Bihan district, north of the province.

The STC mobilized hundreds of tribal gunmen loyal to it from Al-Saeed area on Thursday in “Yashbom” area to implement a protest vigil demanding a quick action to save Shabwa from the terrorism of “Islah”.

The participants in the vigil denounced the continuation of the Islah militants to launch campaigns of arbitrary arrests against the people of the province.

The STC continues to mobilize the tribesmen in Shabwa against the Islah after the tribal sheikhs threatened last week to expel the local authorities, if the “Hadi government” did not implement any economic reforms.
