Saudi businessman arrives in Washington, fleeing Riyadh
WASHINGTON, Sept. 29 (YPA) – The Saudi businessman Nader Turki Al-Dosari and his son had arrived in the United Sates, after circumventing the travel ban issued by the Saudi authorities against them, according to reports.
Al-Dosari filed a lawsuit last June against the Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, because of the latter’s detention of the former crown prince, Mohammed bin Nayef, who had joint investments with Al-Dosari in an oil refinery in the Caribbean Sea.
He initially filed the lawsuit in Pennsylvania on behalf of his son Rakan, a US citizen, against Bin Nayef and other Saudi entities.
Al-Dosari claimed that Saudi officials failed to fulfill a decades-old contract related to an oil refinery project on the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia, but the lawsuit faced a problem, which is “how to summon a prince who does not know his whereabouts.”
The lawsuit was amended to include the current Crown Prince, “Bin Salman” later, noting that he “placed bin Nayef under house arrest and confiscated his assets, thus preventing him from fulfilling his contractual obligations.”
