Police arrest phones’ hacker in Sanaa

SANAA, Sept. 24 (YPA) – Police arrested on Friday a man accused of hacking the mobile phones in Sha’ub district of the capital Sanaa, according to the ministry of interior’s media center.

The center said the accused of hacking a woman’s phone and copying her personal photos for the purpose of blackmailing her.

The police station clarified that the arrested, who works as a motorcyclist, sent a message containing a link to a female citizen’s WhatsApp account, which the accused was able to hack and copy her personal photos after the woman opened the link.

It added that the accused threatened the woman to publish her pictures on social media if she would refuse to pay money.

Sanaa police issued important warnings to all citizens to beware of the crimes of extortion that some are exposed to by phone hackers.
