Omani FM meets UN, US envoys to discuss compromise efforts in Yemen

MUSCAT, Sept. 19 (YPA) – Omani Foreign Minister, Badr Al-Busaidi, discussed in Muscat on Sunday with the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, the issue of ceasefire in Yemen.

Oman’s News Agency stated that “during the meeting, views were exchanged on the efforts made to secure a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire by all parties and to facilitate the flow of humanitarian supplies, as well as engaging into a political process that achieves the aspirations of the Yemeni people towards security, stability, national unity, and reconstruction.

In a related context, the Oman News Agency stated that Al-Busaidi also met with Timothy Lenderking, the US special envoy to Yemen, who is currently visiting the Sultanate of Oman.

During the meeting, the latest developments on the Yemeni arena and efforts to end the war in Yemen were reviewed, according to the Omani agency.

The Sultanate of Oman has played a remarkable role in resolving the Yemeni crisis for years, according to observers, especially in light of its forging balanced relations with the various parties to the crisis, including Ansarullah and Saudi Arabia.
