Al-Qaeda elements flee from Bayda towards Shabwa

SHABWA, Sept. 16 (YPA) – A number of Al-Qaeda organization militants arrived on Thursday in Ataq city of Shabwa province, fleeing the battles with Sanaa forces in Al-Souma’a district in Bayda province.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that the Al-Qaeda militants entered the city of Ataq on dozens of motorcycles carrying light and medium weapons on their shoulders, and their shapes seemed strange and unfamiliar.

This comes after the army forces and the popular committees (Sanaa forces) managed, during the past hours, to purge Al-Souma’a district of the terrorist elements who fled towards districts of Abyan and Shabwa provinces.
