Palestinian resistance factions warn of continued siege on Gaza

GAZA, Jul. 19 (YPA) – The Palestinian resistance factions in the Gaza Strip on Sunday warned of the continuation of the siege imposed on the Strip.

The factions called on mediators and all international parties to pressure the Israeli occupation to end the siege immediately, and speed up the reconstruction process.

“The siege and closure are two things that our people no longer accept, so we give an opportunity to mediators to end this siege and enter the reconstruction materials and ensure freedom of movement for our people,” the “Palestine Today” agency quoted the coordinator of the national forces and member of the political bureau of the Islamic Jihad, Khaled Al-Batsh, as saying.

Al-Batsh added: “If these efforts fail, our people will have no choice but to confront and work with all their might until they regain their right to dignity and freedom.”

He stressed the need to stop the ongoing human suffering that affected the chronically ill, and in light of the spread of the Corona epidemic.

Al-Batsh sent a message to the occupation, saying: “What you did not take from us in the battle of Quds Sword, you will not take it from our people through blackmail, siege and closure.”

It is worth noting that the Israeli occupation, since the aggression it launched on the Gaza Strip on May 10 and lasted for 11 days, has continued to close the crossings, restrict movement and prevent the entry of most basic materials. In addition, it continued to obstruct the reconstruction of the houses and facilities it destroyed, which has exacerbated the catastrophic conditions in the besieged Strip since 2006.
