Shura Council stresses importance of national alignment to confront cybercrime

SANAA, Jun. 20 (YPA) – Shura Council in Sanaa stressed on Sunday the importance of national alignment to combat the cybercrime targeting the Yemeni society.

the Council in its meeting, headed by the Speaker of the council, Mohammad Al-Aidarous, discussed combating cybercrime in Yemeni society in light of the working papers submitted to the council by a number of relevant authorities.

Al-Aidarous praised the results and outcomes of the first national conference on cyber security, which has been recently organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

He considered that the conference was an important step towards raising societal awareness of the importance of cyber-information security, as well as a practical implementation of the national vision for building a modern state.

The meeting affirmed the need for integrating efforts between the Shura Council and the relevant authorities to contribute to the reduction of cybercrime, as well as the speedy adoption of the law on combating information technology crimes by the House of Representatives.
