Cybersecurity conference stresses importance of issuing information technology crimes law

SANAA, Jun. 09 (YPA) – The First National Cybersecurity Conference, which was concluded on Wednesday in Sanaa, stressed the importance of issuing an information technology crimes law and preparing a draft law on the protection of public and personal data.

At the conclusion of the conference, which was organized over three days by the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology, the participants recommended developing a plan to build the capacities of national cadres specialized in the field of cybersecurity, and qualifying workers in the field of information technology in various sectors.

The recommendations called for strengthening partnership in the field of cybersecurity between the public and private sectors, and coordination and cooperation with regional and international bodies concerned with cybersecurity in a manner that preserves the independence of the Republic of Yemen.
