Saudi human rights sources reveal miserable living conditions in Dammam prison

SANAA, June 7 (YPA) – The “Prisoners of Conscience” account, which is concerned with the affairs of political detainees in Saudi Arabia, revealed the miserable living conditions of detainees in solitary confinement prisons in the Kingdom, especially in Dammam Prison.
The account said in a tweet that: “Dammam Investigation Prison has bathrooms in some cells, especially in solitary confinement next to the detainee’s head.”
He added: “Insects and foul odors spread in other cells, according to the testimonies of newly released detainees or the families of some prisoners of conscience who are currently there.”
Prisoners of conscience in Saudi Arabia suffer from miserable living conditions inside their prison, amid local and international human rights concerns for their lives, especially the elderly and the sick.
These poor living conditions prompted many symbols of prisoners of conscience to declare their strike to improve these living conditions; Like the detained human rights defender, Muhammad Al-Qahtani, the activist Muhammad Al-Otaibi, and others.
