YPC: UN provides cover for the Saudi-led coalition aggression’s piracy

SANAA, May 14 (YPA) – The Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC) confirmed that the United Nations provides a cover for the aggression countries to continue maritime piracy and fuel ships’ detention.

In a protest organized in front of the United Nations office in the capital Sanaa after Eid prayer,  YPC executive director Ammar  Al-Adhra’i said the United Nations is actively participating alongside the aggression in sea piracy acts.

Al-Adhra’i said since the beginning of this year, “no liter of gasoline has been allowed into the port of Hodeida”, indicating that more than 26 million Yemenis suffer from the blockade and the continuing acts of maritime piracy on ships.

He held the international community and the United Nations fully responsible for the results of the situation in Yemen as a result of the continuing aggression and siege.

For his part, YPC spokesman Essam al-Mutawakel said that there are still five oil derivative ships being held at Red sea, despite having the permits of the United Nations.

Al-Mutawakel condemned the complicity of the United Nations and its failure to fulfill its responsibilities and tasks entrusted to it in alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people, who have been subjected to aggression and siege for six years.
