Armenian PM steps down

SANAA, April 25 (YPA) – Armenian Prime Minster Nikol Pashinyan has announced his resignation as the country’s prime minister to trigger snap parliamentary elections.

The Armenian Prime Minister added that during this period he would carry out the duties of the Prime Minister in full, under the provisions of the law and the Constitution, declaring that he intended to run for Prime Minister in Armenia’s early parliamentary elections.

The opposition has been demanding the prime minister’s resignation since November after he signed a ceasefire agreement in Nagorno-Karabakh.
