Tribal sheikh: Violent clashes are taking place in coalition’s last lines of defense in Marib

MARIB, March 21 (YPA) – A prominent sheikh of Marib province confirmed that the clashes between Yemeni army forces and coalition forces are taking place in the last lines of defense of Marib city.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Ali Ta’iman, a member of the Shura Council, said the Yemeni army and popular committees, along with the sons of Marib are engaged in fierce confrontations at the walls of the western and northern city of Marib.

These two parts represent the last lines of defense of the enemy in the battle of  liberation of the remaining occupied areas.

Sheikh Ta’iman confirmed, in a tweet,  that coalition airstrikes over the past hours failed in stopping the advancement of the army and popular committees, after a massive collapse of coalition forces in the north and west of the city.

He said coalition warplanes have carried out more than 45 airstrikes on Marib province in the past few hours, most of the airstrikes hit the districts of the Medghal and Sirwah.
