TAIZ, Jan. 06 (YPA) – At least one militant was killed and another wounded in confrontations erupted Wednesday between two armed gangs that lasted for hours in Taiz city, southwest Yemen.
Local sources said that the clashes occurred between members of a gang of the called “Omar Al-Zaqaa” on one side and others of the called “Dhiaa Al-Dahma” on the other hand, and ended with the killing of a gunman and injuring another in Bir Basha area, west of the city.
The clashes started from midnight Tuesday until Wednesday morning, and caused a state of fear and terror among the residents of neighborhoods, the sources added, noting that the two gangs are supported by the military leaders of Islah Party loyal to Saudi-led coalition.
The areas under the control of Islah in Taiz witness insecurity and continual clashes between the pro-coalition factions.
