Health Ministry condemns crime of targeting presidential office

SANAA, May 8 (YPA) – The Ministry of Public Health and Population condemned the horrific crime committed by the US-backed Saudi coalition by bombing the residential district of Tahrir in the center of the capital Sana’a, killing and wounding dozens of civilians,  according to a statement received by Yemen Press Agency on Tuesday.

The ministry condemned the targeting of  Tahrir district square, which is inhabited by tens of thousands of citizens, when the warplanes  hit the Presidential Office, where more than 1,000 civil servants work and every day, hundreds of civilian visitors, some of them elderly and women, come to search of assistance from the office, read the statement.

The statement said that  the Office of the President is located amid hundreds of residential and commercial buildings and the schools of Gamal Abdel Nasser and Saif Ben-Yazen, including thousands of students who were taking their final exams.

The statement pointed out that these crimes confirmed the aggression’s persistence in the commission of more crimes because of the UN silence.

The Ministry called on all international organizations working in Yemen to condemn this crime, pressure to stop the coalition and crimes against humanity, and to open impartial international investigations to take sanctions against the Saudi-led coalition countries.
