Coalition-backed government reports new 17 cases of coronavirus

ADEN, May 11 (YPA) – On Sunday, the highest number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus (Covid-19) was recorded in areas controlled by Saudi-led coalition forces and militia, with “17 new cases of the virus being reported,” according to Hadi’s committee to confront Corona.

” There have been 17 new cases of coronavirus infections, three in Sayoun of Hadhramaut province, 10 in Aden, two in Lahj province, including one death, and two in Taiz province,” the Hadi government’s committee said in a statement posted on its Twitter account at midnight Sunday.

The committee claims that “from April 10th to the present, 51 cases of new Coronavirus (Covid-19) have been detected in the provinces of Aden, Taiz, Hadhramout and Lahj, including 8 deaths and one recovery.” Field sources confirm otherwise.

Field sources, including the director of the Ministry of Health in Aden office, confirmed that “the number of deaths in Corona in Aden alone exceeded 60.”

“The number of confirmed infections and suspected cases exceeds hundreds amid total paralysis of medical facilities,” the sources said.

On the other hand, The Civil Status Authority in Aden province, southern Yemen announced that it had issued 73 burial permits in Aden city during the past 24 hours.

Head of the authority, loyal to Saudi-led coalition, said that 66 permits of burial were issued according to reports from the security services, while seven permits were issued according to the request of hospitals and isolation centers in Aden, without any further clarifications.

The province of Aden has witnessed an accelerating deterioration in various aspects of life, since the occupation entered the province in September 2015.
