Colombia closes borders to prevent spread of coronavirus
SANAA, March 17 (YPA) – Colombian President Ivan Duque Marquez announced on Tuesday the closure of all borders of the country to contain the spread of the Corona virus emerging (Covid 19) “pandemic”.
“From the beginning of Tuesday, 5 am, GMT, we will close all land, sea and river borders of the country to contain the new Corona virus (Covid 19),” Duque said in a statement.
Colombia announced that the number of people infected with the Coronavirus has reached 24.
The Colombian President announced last Friday that his country will close the borders with Venezuela and prevent entry of arrivals who visited Europe or Asia recently, as the country seeks to contain the spread of the Corona virus.
On March 11, the World Health Organization classified the emerging coronavirus, which causes “Covid 19” disease, as a “pandemic”, confirming that the number of infected people is increasing very quickly.
