Transport Ministry, Aviation Authority condemn coalition’s attack on Taiz airport

SANAA, Feb. 24 (YPA) – The Ministry of Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority strongly condemned Saudi-led coalition aircraft’s airstrikes Sunday evening on Taiz International Airport, destroying the the airport’s facilities.

The coalition warplanes waged two airstrikes on Taiz airport; targeting the airport’s terminal and the airplanes’ anchorage, causing severe damage, according to a joint statement issued by the ministry and the aviation authority.

The statement indicated that the coalition aircraft had targeted Taiz airport with a series of raids, destroying 60 per cent of its facilities, while Sunday’s raids resulted in the total destruction of its facilities.

In this regard, the statement called on the United Nations and the Security Council to condemn the crimes committed by the aggression coalition against the Yemeni people and the destruction of their infrastructure.
