Ministry of Health: Yemen has not yet recorded any suspected case of coronavirus

SANAA, Feb. 6 (YPA) – The Ministry of Public Health and Population in the national salvation government confirmed that Yemen has not yet recorded any suspected cases of coronavirus infection.

The ministry said in a statement issued by the Joint Technical Committee for Preparedness for the Response to the Coronavirus, that the methods of prevention of the coronavirus are the same as those used in the prevention of flu, which is to avoid contact with the infected person by a distance of more than a meter and not to use personal tools to the patient.

The Ministry recently called on all  citizens returning from China to inform the health offices of the departments and to cooperate with the ministry’s rapid response teams to follow up on their health status first.

According to the statement, if symptoms of fever, throat pain, cough and shortness of breath appear within 14 days of leaving China, they must report immediately to the Ministry of Health’s Operating Room number (195) and free health care will be provided to them.

The statement called on citizens to report a suspected case to the ministry of health’s operating room number or operating theatres in the governorates’ health offices.
