Closure of Sanaa airport violates int’l laws: Spokesman
SANAA, Jan. 26 (YPA) – A spokesman for the General Authority of Civil Aviation Mazen Ghanem affirmed on Sunday the closure of Sana’a International Airport continued by the Saudi-led aggression coalition, is a war crime and violations of the international law.
The spokesman said in a statement that “the airport has been suspended for four years without a legal justification in a flagrant violation of the humanitarian laws and an complicated international silence.”
“Thousands of Yemeni patients are waiting for a glimmer of hope to reopen the airport to travel abroad to take treatment,” he added.
Ghanem called on the United Nations and the human rights organizations to pressure on the aggression countries to re-open the Sanaa airport towards the patients and returnees.
