Hashim al-Ahmar’s forces protest against Hadi’s governor in Jawf

JAWF, Dec. 22 (YPA) – The commander of the 6th Military Region pro-coalition forces, Hashim al-Ahmardirected a fresh blow to Hadi’s governor in Jawf province, Sheikh Amin al-Okimi, continuing the sharp differences between them over the past days, informed sources said on Saturday.

Activists on social media  circulated photos showing Hashim al-Ahmar’s forces organizing a military demonstration demanding the removal of al-Okimi from the post of “Hadi Governor” in Jawf.

The protest came against al-Okimi’s cutting of al-Ahmar’s supply locomotives in the border Al-Wadiah port in Hadramout province.

The armed men of Hashim al-Ahmar, who came out in uniform, carried slogans denouncing and opposing Sheikh Al-Okimi, demanding that Hadi’s government remove him on charges of corruption and failing to find a service project for citizens in areas under coalition control.

They consider that the leader of Hadi’s “Al-Okimi” has a backward mentality and not a responsible mentality.

Military observers confirmed that the slogans of the vigil carried out by the soldiers of Hashim al-Ahmar come within the policy of ” twist the  arm”,  which is being implemented  and carried out by al-Ahmar in order to subject Al-Okimi to his orders, and that the hand of al-Ahmar is able to reach the  al-Okimi strong hold areas.

Differences between the two sides escalated after Hashim al-Ahmar slapped Sheikh Al-Akimi in Saudi Arabia during the signing of the Riyadh agreement which was signed between Hadi’s government and the UAE-backed  southern transitional Council in early November.
