One million Syrian refugees return to the country, most of them return from Lebanon

SANAA, Dec. 5 (YPA) – Syrian Minister of Local Administration and Environment Hussein Makhlouf revealed that the number of refugees returning to the country has reached about one million, the majority of whom have returned from Lebanon.

“The return of one million Syrians to the country is a continuation of the army’s message of victory over terrorism,” Minster Hussein Makhlouf told al-Watan newspaper.

Makhlouf added: We translate president Bashar al-Assad’s directives for the return of the displaced, explaining that every citizen who returns to the country is received from the relevant ministries to provide him with full services.

In addition, any one returned back is granted a six-month delay for compulsory service and to provide for the needs that would help him to start a stable life.

Makhlouf called on all those who doubt to visit those who have returned home, and to see that they are honored in their homes and country and have all the rights and duties.

He noted that Syrian embassies abroad receive any citizen wishing to return, provide him with what is necessary, and that they guide him to the place of return and secure the necessary travel documents in case of a shortage.
