Water Minister confirms expansion in alternative energy projects

SANAA, Dec. 2 (YPA) – Minister of Water and Environment Nabil al-Wazir on Monday said that alternative energy is the best option for the continuation of operating water projects in various provinces.

At the opening of a training course organized by the Ministry in cooperation with the German development agency “GIZ” on solar water pumping system, the Minister affirmed that the ministry has invested all efforts and energies to expand in this field.

Al-Wazir noted that the siege imposed by the aggression forces and preventing the entry of oil derivatives, including diesel, almost caused the shutdown of water pumps, prompting the ministry to look for alternative options to continue to provide water to citizens.

The Minister urged the participants to make the most of the two-week training course and apply what they have learned in the field.
