Missile attack hits coalition’s HQ in Marib

MARIB, Nov. 13 (YPA) – At least seven soldiers belonging to Saudi-backed Ministry of Defence were killed, including military commanders and 12 others wounded in a missile attack targeted joint headquarter of Saudi-led coalition in Marib province, a military official reported.

According to the official, the initial toll of the attack reached 7 dead, including the training joint operations officer, Brigadier General “Saeed Al-Shamahi”, along with his son Lt. “Mohammed Saeed”,  Lieutenant “Abdul Rahman al-Da’ery “, Lieutenant “Omar al-Da’ery “, and Lieutenant “Bin Ali Hatem”,

The official confirmed that the attack hit the headquarters of the Joint Operation of the coalition during a high-level meeting chaired by Hadi’s Defence Minister Mohammed al-Maqdashi.

The meeting included Saudi personnel representative of the Saudi policy of backing Hadi and waging war on Yemen.

According to military and media sources, two unidentified missiles targeted the main entrance to the Sahan al-Jan military camp, while the second landed near the joint forces’ headquarters building.

On October 30, the so-called Defence Minister Mohammed al-Maqdashi has escaped an assassination attempt in the same city.

Hadi’s government has accused the UAE of being behind the attack. Yehya Abu Hatim, an adviser to al-Maqdashi, said that an Emirati drone targeted the minister during the evacuation of the Joint Operations Headquarters.
