Health Minister announces state of epidemic emergency in Yemen

SANAA, Nov. 13 (YPA) – The Minister of Health Taha al-Mutawakil declared on Wednesday a state of internal epidemic emergency in several of the Yemeni provinces.

Al-Mutawakil said in a statement that the outbreak of epidemic of dengue and malaria targets provinces of Hodeidah, Saada, Ibb, Hajjah, al-Mahwiat, Taiz and Raimah.

The minister affirmed that the dengue has targeted 116,000 cases in 2019.

He added that the ongoing aggression and blockade imposed by the Saudi-led coalition has contributed greatly in the spreading of the epidemics and others diseases that target the Yemeni people.
