PM discusses with OCHA effects of humanitarian disaster in Yemen

SANAA, Oct. 20 (YPA) – Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor on Sunday discussed with Head of UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Yemen Sebastien Trives the repercussions of humanitarian disaster in light of the aggression and unfair siege on the country.

They dealt with humanitarian activities of international organizations operating under the umbrella of the United Nations in Yemen, as well as ways to strengthen the organizations’ role in reducing the suffering of citizens.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister noted that despite the efforts of international organizations in humanitarian work, the needs of the Yemeni people are much greater, given the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe for five years as a result of Saudi-Emirati aggression.

Dr. bin Habtoor stressed the UN important role in pressuring the coalition to stop the aggression, lift the siege and not fabricate crises by repeatedly holding oil and food ships.

In the meeting, Head of OCHA praised the National Salvation Government’s role in facilitating the international organizations’ work and addressing the difficulties facing their humanitarian activity.
