TEHRAN, Oct. 13 (YPA) – Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday said the reason for his visit to Iran was to prevent an escalation between Iran and Saudi Arabia, expressing his country’s readiness to host representatives of the two countries to start dialogue, in Islamabad.
“The key to a solution in the region is to end the war in Yemen,” Khan said during a joint press conference with the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in Tehran.
“We don’t want to see any conflict between Saudi Arabia and Iran,” Khan said, noting that resolving the dispute through dialogue is possible and correct.
Khank affirmed that the conflict between the two countries is “in no one’s interest, and will lead to high oil prices globally.”
The Pakistani prime minister referred that his meeting with President Rouhani was the third in a year, appreciating Iran’s support for the Kashmiri people.
