Security sources reveal details about assassinating Saudi commander in Hardhramout

HADHRAMAUT, Sept. 20 (YPA) – Security sources on Friday have revealed some details about the assassination of commander Saudi-led coalition forces named Brigadier Abu Nawaf on Thursday in Hadhramaut Valley.

Yemen Press Agency obtained information from its security sources based in Hadhramaut province that the assassination of the commander of the coalition forces al-Otaibi and four of his companions, including two Saudi nationals, came in response to UAE’s accusations of “Saudis” of killing six of its soldiers last week in Khor Makser Directorate, Aden province, southern Yemen.

The sources mocked the version published by coalition media outlets that Al-Otaibi was killed while dismantling an explosive device. They added the operation was prepared and carried out in Hadhramaut to pin the charge on so-called al-Qaeda elements.

On Thursday, Brigadier Abu Nawaf, Saudi national, and four other soldiers, including two Saudis and two Yemenis, were killed in the blast that targeted a military patrol of the First Military Region that was carrying them, and ten other soldiers were wounded.
The operation comes two days after a military force from the first military region loyal to Saudi Arabia raided a hideout of wanted people in the city of Shibam.

A military source said fierce clashes erupted between the so-called “Hadhramout battalion for special missions” and militants linked to acts of sabotage and terrorism targeted a military force last week.
